Andre Calvert’s Most Anticipated Games of 2018
Monster Hunter World (Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC)
Developer:Capcom
Publisher:Capcom
Release Date: January 26. 2018, PC Fall release
Although Monster Hunter World may be a game that I don’t end up playing in 2018 (no console or good enough PC), I am still very intrigued by this game’s release because of the size and scope of it. There was a beta last month that I watched on a stream and I enjoyed all of it despite how short it was. I’ve only played a Monster Hunter demo on the 3DS, which is the extent of my Monster Hunter experience. Monster Hunter World will be on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC, which adds a whole new dimension (graphics) and audience to the series. With games like Dark Souls being so popular, it is only fitting that a Monster Hunter game goes multiplatform to maximum the appeal of the big boss fight.
The online element is going to make the Monster Hunter World experience very engaging and probably increase its entertainment value and Twitch popularity, just based on what I saw in the beta. Let’s not forget all the customization that Monster Hunter has either. I expect Monster Hunter World to be a smash hit in 2018, with the PC version release in Fall making sure this doesn’t go forgotten by the end of 2018.
