Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

Developer: Digital Eclipse
Publisher: Capcom

Release Date: May 29, 2018

Normally I am a bit apprehensive when I hear of a new collection of a franchise because I view it as only a cash grab, but with the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection it is a bit different. Never once have we seen the following games put in a single package for Street Fighter fans:

Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.

More importantly, Street Fighter? The first one, the one we can’t find and has a negative reputation will finally be accessible for the masses. I have never played it and I can’t wait to try it out. What hypes me up even more for the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is the list of games that will have an online mode. The following games will have online mode:

Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: Third Strike

Yes, the holy grail that is Super Street Fighter II: Turbo will finally have online. This is the best part of the collection in my opinion. I can finally play the game that got me into the franchise in the first place and the game that wasted away many of my dad’s quarters. May 2018 can’t come soon enough!
