GameReviewPad gives their thoughts on the Sonic Forces – Official Game Trailer – Nintendo E3 2017.

Andre Calvert says:

The Sonic franchise is a very tough franchise to predict, and I don’t know what to expect from Sonic Forces because this is another game that has crept up on everyone without much fanfare. I was puzzled to see this trailer after watching the E3 2017 Nintendo showcase, wondering why wasn’t this included in the video presentation? It’s actually a pretty intriguing trailer! It’s almost like they were afraid to promote a “new Sonic game,” instead opting to just promote¬†Sonic Mania front and center, a game that includes already well received content from the past.

Sonic Forces appears to have familiar faces from the past, and faces that I admittedly don’t recognize. Yes, it’s been that long for me. The 3D setup does look interesting though, and if it can be pulled off I see this as a success. The trailer touts customization in appearance, but if there is customization in abilities this could be even more interesting. This is being promoted as a full fledged Sonic game, and as mentioned above, they seem to be managing expectations of this Sonic Forces game with no expectations. Sonic Forces is also a strong candidate to set itself up to be a sleeper hit of 2017 if everything works without a hitch, This trailer has me pumped up enough that I can’t wait to see what this turns out to be on release.

More trailer impressions of this trailer may be added prior to release date.
