E3 2017 Trailer Impressions: A Way Out Official Gameplay Trailer

From the developers of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Hazelight surprised me at the EA press conference with a trailer for a game about breaking out of prison.  A Way Out is presented as a split-screen only co-op (couch or online), where the players are trying to break out of prison. Both characters are playing in split-screen at the same time, but methods of communication and how a single player can progress with or without their same co-op partner remain unclear. As a fan of the show Prison Break, this game really intrigues me, but having played Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and knowing what that game accomplished gives great credibility and high expectations to what A Way Out could turn out to be.

I am always intrigued by new ways of storytelling and how certain game mechanics can solidly storytelling. After watching the E3 2017 presentation of this game, this game is quickly high on my “want” list, but gameplay questions remain that I hope and expect to be answered in due time.
