GameReviewPad gives their thoughts on the Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus – E3 2017 Full Reveal Trailer.

Andre Calvert says:

There are few trailers in the world of video games that are long, catchy, and are clearly tailor-made for special presentation, like an E3 press conference, but Bethesda manages to hit all cylinders with this reveal trailer for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. I am personally not a big FPS guy, but this well produced eight minute trailer really puts a ‘cinematic’ spin on a genre that, in my opinion, is hard to promote as a big story driven experience. From the clips in the beginning of the trailer setting the stage for the game, to the beautiful background soundtrack as enemies are getting blown away, these elements really add a lot of intrigue to a franchise that quite frankly hasn’t had a lot of hype in a very long time, but still had its core fans.

Wolfenstein, a Nazi-killing franchise, is probably going to receive lots of mainstream attention when it releases, but it’s my attention that matters,  and this game has my attention! I can’t lie, the cinematic presentation of this makes me want to give this a go at some point, even if FPS is not favorite genre. The real kicker of the trailer is at the very end showing someone tripping on acid, which is one of the most hilarious and bold things I’ve ever seen put in a trailer. I am definitely looking forward to see if the Wolfenstein II: the New Colossus lives up to the hype this trailer gave it.
