Part 1
Dude…..did you even play this game? This game is 20% larger than Skyrim in map scale and quest density, its been stated by the developers and anyone whose played more than 10 hours….
It really isn’t though. 45% of the map is water, which has no quests in it, and there are few, if any, massive dungeons or caves to explore. Yes the map is technically bigger than Skyrim’s and yes where there is land the quest density is higher, points any marketing team would be sure to emphasize, but that’s because one quest in Skyrim can take you into a Dwemer ruin that takes four plus hours to get through. Traveling is also faster in The Witcher 3 than it is in Skyrim so it doesn’t take nearly as long to get from one side to the other, which only serves to make the map feel smaller. Take into account the fact that Skyrim’s map doesn’t have huge bodies of featureless water, and add the miles and miles of caves, ruins, and temples hidden below the surface and you’ll find that The Witcher 3 is definitely smaller by comparison. Not to say by much, but smaller none the less.
