Andre Calvert’s Post E3 2018 Most Anticipated Game of 2018:

Red Dead Redemption 2

You may be surprised why my post E3 2018 Most Anticipated Game of 2018 is still Red Dead Redemption 2, given that no new information about it was released during E3 2018. This is a testament to the fact that many of the top games that were announced at E3 2018 either are not releasing in 2018, or currently don’t have a concrete release date in 2018. I will acknowledge that this is also because I don’t currently own a Nintendo Switch, which is why I have eliminated those games. That leaves very few major releases for 2018. Although I am excited for Marvel’s Spider-Man on Playstation 4, I don’t expect it to be much different than Spider-Man 2 in regards to gameplay, which leaves Red Dead Redemption 2 as the biggest release in the fall that I feel can truly transcend the original.

We haven’t gotten many Rockstar updates on what to expect gameplay wise, but I do have a gut feeling that Red Dead Redemption 2 will add something new to the experience, given how Grand Theft Auto V was handled. Red Dead Redemption was one of my favorite games on Playstation 3, even one of the reasons I decided to purchase a Playstation 3 when I did, shortly before its release. Fast forward to 2018, I am a new Playstation 4 owner and waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2.

When I put together this category prior to E3 2018 I expected my answer for this to change, and I was even hoping it would, but E3 2018 really gave us few 2018 concrete release dates, so Red Dead Redemption 2 remains as my choice.
