Noita, developed by Nolla Games, is a game I’ve been keeping my eye on ever since it was first revealed due to the physics shown of the terrain in the trailer. Noita is a roguelite game that gives you the ability to create new spells as you delve deep down a procedurally generated world until you die and learn from your mistakes. The most enticing aspect of Noita is the fact that every pixel is simulated, which you can see in the trailer. As seen, when terrain burns or explodes it falls and interacts with other terrain in a certain way adds a unique physics element to the game I don’t recall encountering before in other games. This is definitely an indie game you should be keeping track of at the very least due to its unique nature.
Nolla Games is a company with three developers; Petri Purho (Crayon Physics Deluxe), Ollie Harjola (The Swapper), and Arvi Teikari (Baba Is You), Given the fact I’ve played all three of those games and like them all, I have a lot of confidence in this development team to deliver a really unique gaming experience.
Noita just launched in Steam Early Access and is estimated to be in that state for about a year.
