Trailer Impressions: Diablo® II: Resurrected Announce

Andre Calvert’s thoughts on the Diablo® II: Resurrected Announce Trailer

As a Diablo II fan I was eagerly awaiting a potential remastered version to be announced that had long been in rumored. Thankfully, Diablo II: Resurrected was finally announced at the recent Blizzconline with the above trailer.

Headed into this reveal I was very pessimistic about the potential damage Blizzard can do given their recent disastrous remaster of Warcraft III, Warcraft III: Reforged. This announcement trailer showed a game that looks really dark and crisp with a lot of effort clearly given to maintaining what we all know and love about the game. Vicarious Visions is handling this remaster, which should ease a lot of concerns about the quality because they did the recent Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater: 1 + 2 remaster that received plenty praise, including from our very own Louis Hughes. This trailer also announced that it will be on every platform and have cross-progression (NOT cross play), meaning players can load their character on any platform(? Still being ironed out.). I would love this game to have cross play, but cross progression is still a good thing to have.

I’ll definitely write more thoughts about Diablo II: Resurrected, including the BlizzConline panel that discusses other things related to the game.
