GameReviewPad gives their thoughts on the Mortal Kombat – Official Announcement Trailer.

Louis Hughes says:

It was only a matter of time until NetherRealm Studios announced a new Mortal Kombat game, and The Game Awards was the perfect spot to showcase it. While the trailer shows the aftermath of the story from Mortal Kombat X of Raiden turning evil (spoilers), it also shows off what is believed to be the ability to customize your fighter. There is also a hint of weapons coming back. Of course, the gore the series is known for is here in full force with the popular and not for the weak of heart X-ray moves making a return.

While the announcement was awesome, as it’ll be available in April, the trailer was met with negative reactions to the choice of music. So much that upon re-watching it I muted the audio and it was nice to know I wasn’t the only one who did this. The biggest surprise for this came when more information was released that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch. This shows how hot the Switch is doing, considering the last Mortal Kombat game that was released on a Nintendo console was Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (2007) for the Wii.
