Trailer Impressions: Shenmue III- The 1st Teaser

Many considered E3 2015 to be Sony’s best year, as they presented a lot of big announcements, which included the announcement of Shenmue III via Kickstarter. Years passed, and my hype for the game was forgotten until this trailer. While short, it did present fans, like me, a quick retelling of the ending to Shenmue II with some quick shots of what to expect in the continuation to finding Lan Di.

What has me a little concerned is that the reception for other most wanted Kickstarter games ended up disappointing a lot of people (Mighty No. 9, Yooka Laylee), and I fear with little gameplay shown I should keep my expectations in check. It doesn’t help that the visuals don’t look to impressive from the Dreamcast days, but they are working on a much smaller budget. Shenmue is one of my favorite games of all time, so I hope I’m wrong and the game is amazing. I am really looking forward to continuing the story that I wanted to finish back in 2002. Just like Xbox with Shenmue II, Shenmue III will be my reason to get a Playstation 4 in the near future.
