Pit People (PC)

Developer: The Behemoth
Publisher: The Behemoth

Release Date: March 2018

Pit People is a game that has been in Steam Early Access for over year, and also a game that I have dabbled in waiting for its final release. The Behemoth, also the developer of Castle Crashers, brings a similar aesthetic to Pit People. As a fan of strategy games, I was a bit taken back by the casual nature of Pit People, where you just move units to tiles and they attack whoever automatically. As I played further, I warmed up to this style of design because the game doesn’t really take itself seriously in the first place. Of what I played, the game has an amazing soundtrack and the humor is great also.

I am looking forward to seeing what the finished product is, as I only played a little bit of it because it was a game that was still in a big balancing phase. There is a multiplayer PVP mode, which I am waiting to try out, but I’m not expecting much. There is also a co-op mode that I have actually heard good things about, but not sure if I will dive into that.  One of the other very cool elements of this game is the customization. There are so many accessories and weapons to mix and match, which gives every player a chance to have their own unique experience. I eagerly await playing the finished the product of Pit People.
