Andre Calvert’s Top 3 E3 2019 Indie Games

E3 2019

1. Starmancer

Starmancer is a game I had not heard of prior to E3 2019, but a game that I am definitely gonna play after just seeing the announcement. The game allows the player to build and manage their own space station and defend it. What sold me on this game is the player customization and ability to grow your own colony and explore space. Ominux may have a super gem on their hands with Starmancer and it doesn’t hurt that it’s being published by Chucklefish. I’ll be paying close attention to this one.

2. Midnight Ghost Hunt

Every year there is a game that peaks my interest that is from a genre that I don’t play much of and that’s where Midnight Ghost Hunt falls in. Midnight Ghost Hunt is ghost hunters versus ghosts, where ghosts can transform into objects around a stage in disguise to try to escape from the ghost hunters. The trailer shown during the PC Gamer presentation was excellent and completely sold me on this game’s potential for lots of multiplayer enjoyment. I do look forward to playing this if I ever get the chance.

3. 12 Minutes

Twelve Minutes is a game that immediately caught my interest when it was shown during the Microsoft conference. The trailer shows a husband and wife in an apartment when the police raid the apartment accusing your wife of murder and then killing you. The premise of the game is that you are stuck in a time loop and you have to use everything you know to try to break the loop. Luis Antonio, the developer, could have a super gem on his hands with such an interesting premise of an interactive thriller game. I can’t wait to play the finished product.
