GameReviewPad gives their thoughts on the Need for Speed Payback: Official Gameplay Trailer.

Louis Hughes says:

After taking a much need hiatus, the Need for Speed franchise is back. This gameplay trailer shows it going for a heist feel with some cops thrown in because it wouldn’t be NFS without a police pursuit. I was surprised to learn that former members of Criterion Games are developing, but then again, the gameplay did reveal the slow motion takedowns which were a trademark in their Burnout games. While most have compared this to the recent Fast and Furious movies, I feel most have forgotten about Need For Speed: Underground, which was based on early Fast and Furious movies that focus on street racing before going in a different direction.

While I know a Need For Speed: Underground 3 will not happen, I will give this game a look since it’ll be nice to play a story-driven racing game since Need For Speed: The Run was the last game to do that. While it was fun, the ride was to short. I can hope more features will be added in the story for a more intense ride.
