Indie Game Discovery Roundup 009

Week of June 10, 2018

The Indie Game Discovery Roundup is a list of indie games just announced, upcoming. very recently released, or hidden gems that caught our eye that we would like you to know about.

Antigraviator, Flat Heroes, Disdoored, Inked, Transmogrify

Antigraviator

Antigraviator is a high-speed racer that probably snuck up on everybody with little fanfare. PC gamers don’t get many racing games, but here we have Antigraviator. This game has multiplayer with some weapons and traps usage, which should warm any competitive racing game fan that prefers the arcade style to the simulation type racing. Although I haven’t played it yet, this does have a single player campaign with many unlocks for customization. This was first released for PC this past week, but is headed to consoles later in 2018.

You can wishlist it on Steam here.

Release Date: June 6, 2018 (PC), Later 2018 (PS4, Xbox One)

Flat Heroes

Flat Heroes is headed out of Steam Early Access and to the Nintendo Switch soon. Somehow this slipped under my radar until recently. Flat Heroes has a simple aesthetic full of shapes, but yet the gameplay looks so artistic, even if it appears chaotic. Boasting over 300 levels, this is sure to provide many challenges, as well as daily challenges. It will also have local multiplayer, not online multiplayer. Flat Heroes may not have much attention, but there is a certain aspect to the level design that make it very appealing to any into these kinds of obstacle avoid games.

You can wishlist it on Steam here.

Release Date: July 5, 2018 (PC, Switch)

Disdoored

Disdoored, just recently released for Steam Early Access, is a base-building survival game that involves farming. This is another game that doesn’t have much attention, but who doesn’t find base-building survival games somewhat appealing? There is a very unique aesthetic to the characters, and everything moving around the farm. Still in its infancy of Steam Early Access, keep tabs on Disdoored because it appears to be a very promising type of gameplay for this genre.

You can wishlist it on Steam here.

Release Date: May 31, 2018 for Steam Early Access

Inked

Inked is a game that came out a month ago, but I do want to call attention to it primarily because of the art style. This is a beautifully drawn game with puzzles that are supposed to bring your nameless hero to its lost love. As someone who enjoys puzzle games, this is definitely on my list to play in 2018. Inked is a game that you may overlooked, but I have this listed here so you don’t forget check it out if you like puzzle games.

You can wishlist it on Steam here.

Release Date: April 26, 2018

Transmogrify

I always want to give some love to kickstarters and Transmogrify is a project that I want you to check out. Transmogrify is a 2D sci-fi puzzle platformer where you turn enemies into platforms. Within the game there are hidden items and multiple ways to solve puzzles.  Although I can’t vouch for what the finished product will be, I wanted to bring this to your attention because this does look promising and the genre is very appealing. Currently there is a free demo available for Transmogrify if you want to check it out.

You can support Transmogrify on Kickstarter here.

More information on Transmogrify and the FREE DEMO can be found at PlayTransmogrify.com.
