Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has to be the game of the last few years that I kept tabs on the most. Although I wasn’t a kickstarter backer, once I discovered this game back around E3 2017 I knew this was a game I needed to be play. When this was announced there were few other new games similar to this, but now a lot of 2D ‘souls’ games with Castlevania vibes are now sprouting up, but no game can claim the mantle of being created by Koji Igarashi.

What I am looking forward to the most is a Castlevania-eque experience made by the creator in modern day, to see what Igarashi can bring with greater resources. I am most interested in the camera presentation and movement due to this new technology. With this new type of tech this means 2D boss battles can be much more elaborate, especially with a beautiful orchestra in the background, which can only mean we will get some possibly epic fights. Other elements like crafting and character development also interest me, as I’m a sucker for this type of gameplay.

As we move towards release in the summer I expect Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to slowly gain even more hype than it already has. I am trying to contain my own hype because I can’t wait to play this.
