GameReviewPad contributors give their thoughts on the Cosmic Star Heroine E3 2016 Trailer.

Sean Kromrey says:

I have heard of Zeboyd Games before, but I’ve never been too sure about their games. Cthullu Saves the World sounds like a fun idea, but not something that I would be dying to play. This game however has given me goosebumps. Cosmic Star Heroine looks to be something that harkens back to Chrono Trigger with a cyberpunk type of setting to it. I was sold as soon as that song started playing and its rock theme, and then when I saw those images I was hooked. The moment 1:03-1:13 came up and started showing the implants and the soldiers with grim lighting and a dystopian/alien type of setting being displayed, I knew this story was going to be interesting. We don’t see to many epic sci-fi RPGs in this new pixelated renaissance we are in, and I for one think this could be the start of a wave.

Am I excited? Yes, of course, but I’m also hesitant. I guess my hesitation comes from how much my nostalgia is affecting me right now. Yes the game design wise looks great and it reminds me of Total Recall in moments, just without all the “ARGH” from Arnold. I’m optimistic, as this could be a sci-fi Secret of Mana or Chrono Trigger for the new age, well at least I hope it will be. The gameplay seems to be harkening back to the classic JRPG style and I don’t mind that, heck, we want some of that sprinkled in these days with all these “innovations” we get to game series. I’m certainly going to look forward to seeing a bit more of the gameplay in the near future and hopefully that will sell me even more.
