Andre Calvert’s thoughts on the Ghost of Tsushima – State of Play Trailer:

Microsoft, this is what a gameplay trailer looks like. Ghost of Tsushima has been a game that mesmerized me from the beginning, but I had no idea what to expect beyond the initial trailer. This State of Play trailer is incredibly well done, showing off the open world exploration, horse riding, combat, and special technical features of the game that can enhance the experience for the player. I was really thrilled to see that environment (white light) is being used as a guidance for travel to find new locations rather than a simple marker on a map. The horse riding itself is also impressive because of the camera angle and scenic beauty surrounding Jin as he travels through and past colorful fields.

There is something about this Ghost of Tsushima trailer that makes me think it might be the true gem of 2020 that we underestimated. The trailer alone shows art direction that is some of the best I’ve seen in gaming and even movies. I can’t finish this without saying the death animations after Jin slashes, slices, and dices someone adds a lot to the experience and not in a Mortal Kombat way either. Knowing that I’ll be able to play this game with the Japanese voices and subtitles to add authenticity also really sold the game to me.

Ghost of Tsushima, I can’t wait!
