GameReviewPad gives their thoughts on the Red Dead Redemption 2: Official Gameplay Video Part 2 trailer.

Andre Calvert says:

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been my most anticipated game for quite some time and this Red Dead Redemption 2: Official Gameplay Video Part 2 trailer justifies a lot of my reasoning. This gameplay overview doesn’t just showcase the graphics, but different scenarios. The video emphasizes that “you are under a constant threat” from other outlaws trying to get you. I am very curious how this translates into gameplay, whether every threat is linear or create by you, the player. This trailer like the last one also put an emphasis on player choice, which I hope is done well enough that each player will have a different experience. Rockstar has enough resources to pull this off, so it wouldn’t be farfetched.

The one major highlight in the trailer is first-person mode. I am personally not going to play first-person for most of it, but I have to admit the shot of riding on a horse in first-person might get me to use it. The trailer also touts many things you can do like, “take in a show,” which I am eager to at least check one out. That is new from the first one. Stealing a train was also a highlight for me, as the only other game to make a train scene amazing thus far is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Rockstar might be competing for that title! The Dead eye system is back, and I don’t remember off the top of my head what is different here, but it seems to be just as useful as in first game. I’m usually not a scenery person, but the ability to see the game from a different vantage point could be interesting also. The story remains a big mystery, and probably the one thing I am still concerned about headed towards release. The story in the first one is one of my favorite video game stories and I’m not sure it can be topped.
