Trailer Impressions: Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn – Date Announce

A new trailer for Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is something I’ve been waiting for since the first trailer was shown. This new trailer confirms what I already expected, which is don’t take this game seriously, just enjoy it. The vibe from the trailer really gives off the feeling that this is a passion project by Shaquille O’Neal because it sounds like he is having a lot of fun.

Yes, the voice in the trailer is Shaq, and yes that is him rapping at the end of the trailer. I remember when the original Shaq Fu game came out for the Sega Genesis and it came packaged with a Shaq rap cd. We already knew from the first trailer this wouldn’t be a standard 1v1 fighting game, which is probably a good idea. I am still very unsure about what to expect from this, but knowing the type of person Shaq is from following his career and listening to his podcast, I expect wackiness.  I did vaguely recognize the old guy in the trailer as someone that might have been in the original Shaq Fu game, but I’m not positive.

I definitely look forward to playing Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, even if I have lowered expectations on a quality level. Gaming is supposed to be about having fun, and I have high expectations for the wacky fun factor. June 5th can’t come soon enough!
