GameReviewPad gives their thoughts on the The Last of Us Part II – Teaser 2 Trailer.

Andre Calvert says:

The Last of Us was one of the best video game experiences I’ve ever had, so I was very thrilled to hear last year that The Last of Us Part II was being developed. The first trailer was intriguing, but this trailer is a lot more graphic and violent. Although I understand those that are sensitive to graphic violence, this trailer fits The Last of Us universe perfectly. This trailer does tell a brief contextual story of people being chased by “bad people” (unnamed), followed by a woman that looks ripped in the body and arms being hung up on a tree and another woman starting to slash her stomach. The other event before showing a rescue is of a woman being pinned down to get hammered on the arm.

Initially I thought the woman being hung up and getting her stomach slashed was Ellie, but at closer glance it is clearly a different person and many speculative theories see this trailer as a flashback. That is what I think it is also, but the trailer leaves a lot of questions, which is fine. It would be a complete falsehood to claim that this trailer provides no story context, but also because trailers aren’t supposed to answer all the questions either. This trailer may not be great for viewing many times, but it certainly adds further contextual speculation to what The Last of Us Part II is all about.

More trailer impressions of this trailer may be added prior to release date.
