Why Diablo II: Resurrected Is Andre’s #1 Ranked ‘Game for Game’ Selection

Diablo II: Resurrected has remained my #1 Ranked ‘Game for Game’ selection from March into April for many reasons, but the biggest reason is I haven’t seen anything in any gameplay footage that signals I shouldn’t be hyped for this game as a huge Diablo II fan. In my view, there is such a huge historical gaming significance to have an easily accessible and working version of Diablo II for the sake of the Action-RPG genre. There are so many games that have been inspired by Diablo II and try to be as good as Diablo II, but the dark dungeon-crawling atmosphere in Diablo II remains unmatched and may never be.

Of all the games slated for 2021, Diablo II: Resurrected may hold the strongest test of time because the previous generation and future generations will be able to play it. I can’t even wrap my head around the fact that someone who is 21-years old didn’t get to experience Diablo II at its height of popularity is just astonishing and makes me feel very old. The recent closed beta footage also reinforced this as my #1 ranked ‘Game for Game’ rank because I saw graphical upgrades, spells with cooler graphics, and most of all, there were no complaints from anyone I watched about technical issues like frame rate. The game looked smoother than ever and we have Vicarious Visions to thank for that.

I have no idea when in 2021 Diablo II: Resurrected will be released, but I do know that this will likely hold my top ranked until it does.
