Review Context

I like the hack and slash genre dating back to Gauntlet at the arcades. I always found it fun to take down enemies as a different type of hero, while exploring dungeons and finding treasure and items. My current favorite game of the genre is Bayonetta 2, but there are games similar to this game I like as well, such as Muramasa: The Demon Blade. I was looking forward to jumping back into a game that gives me flashbacks of my first experience.

I enjoy playing platformers, especially platformers with a good story progression and solid controls. Ori and the Blind Forest is my favorite most recently played platformer that combines both story and game mechanics into a good gaming experience.

Review Context

Being a fan of professional wrestling and video games go hand in hand. My favorite wrestling game will always be WWF: No Mercy for Nintendo 64. Unfortunately, if you love the sport, the WWE 2K series is your only current option, except for Fire Pro Wrestling World, which is currently on Steam and waiting for a Playstation 4 release.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole Review (Xbox One)

Review Context

When I heard South Park: The Stick of Truth was written by the creators, I played and enjoyed the game. I thought the chances of a sequel were slim with how long the development was for The Stick of Truth. They proved me wrong, and I was excited for the sequel after learning it would be spoofing the superhero genre, mainly Marvel.

The only game I’ve played that I can think of that is remotely close to what Newt One does is Journey (PS3). I personally found Journey to be a very pleasant experience and Newt One taps into similar feelings.
