Volt Review (PC)

Volt Title

Stylized and minimalistic visuals, moody music and a plethora of increasingly difficult levels make up the meat of Volt: Battery on the loose. The game follows the aesthetic style of many puzzle-platformers already on the market, but its gameplay and mechanics are unique enough to make Volt its own beast. While the game is hardly groundbreaking in overall design, gamers looking for a quick diversion of wits are likely to find their cup of tea in Quantized Bit’s first title.

Divekick Review (PC)

Where do you draw the line between parody and sincerity? Some say that the best satire is that which is most difficult to distinguish from the real thing, and in the case of the infamous two-button fighter Divekick many are still scratching their heads as to how to approach it. It’s obvious at a glance that this is a game that wears its love of fighters and questionable stance with the Fighting Game Community on its sleeve, but just how deep into the satirical rabbit hole can a game go before it harms itself for it?

Rayman Legends Review (PC)

The recent trend of new games that throw back to earlier eras of gaming has been a mixed bag. On the one hand, good 2D platformers can be great fun. On the other, it can get stale quick. How many variations on 2D platformers can they come up with? Rayman Legends, I’m happy to report, falls squarely into the former category. Building on the foundation laid by 2011’s Rayman Origins, Legends is a gorgeous, tough-as-nails package that has a lot to offer anyone who has ever enjoyed a 2D platformer.
