Assassin’s Creed Rogue Review (PS3)

Assassin’s Creed Rogue received very little attention when it was released last year, and for good reason. It was a last gen only title that was being released the same day as Ubisoft’s flagship next gen exclusive Assassin’s Creed Unity. It also didn’t help that Rogue’s gameplay seemed like nothing more than a rehash of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, whereas Unity was adding several new innovations to the series formula. But, in a surprising turn of events, Rogue actually received better reception from fans than Unity during launch, and both games sold about the same amount of copies. Part of this is because Unity had an absurd amount of glitches during its release that made it almost unplayable for certain people, whereas Rogue was fairly stable for the most part. But is the game itself actually worth playing?

The Wolf Among Us Overall Review (PS3)

The good folks at Telltale games have established themselves as a top tier gaming company as of late; this is largely due to their first game, The Walking Dead winning a game of the year award at Spike TV’s video game awards show a couple years back. Hoping to continue their winning streak, they have released their new project: The Wolf Among Us; another episodic interactive adventure. So is this next project a triumph or a misfire?

Beyond: Two Souls Review (PS3)

When Beyond: Two Souls was announced as the next title by Quantic Dream there was much anticipation and excitement at the thought of another David Cage game coming to the Playstation 3. Quantic Dream’s previous title, Heavy Rain, was well received by gamers and turned out to be successful. The bar was set high for Beyond: Two Souls to deliver an experience that was as thrilling as Heavy Rain, but did it?

Murdered: Soul Suspect Review (PS3)

Murdered Soul Suspect Boxart

It’s no surprise that Murdered: Soul Suspect had very little hype surrounding it. After all, it’s not a first person shooter or action game. It’s not a graphical powerhouse, and it’s extremely slow paced with a concept that is quite different from many other AAA titles on the market. If anything the lack of marketing for this game made me even more eager to see what it was all about, as I tend to enjoy a lot of games that receive very little attention. However upon playing and completing this title, I came out much more disappointed than I had expected.

Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus Review (PS3)

Ratchet and Clank remains one of Sony’s most successful Playstation franchises. It was one of the first games to ever mix third person shooting and action platforming together to create a truly unique experience. Since then the formula has spawned several sequels and spinoff titles that continued to build upon the formula from the first game. While most of these games were excellent, the franchise has had it’s fair share of bad installments. The most controversial being two spinoff titles released after the third installment on the PS3 titled All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault which strayed far away from the series roots, and felt more like generic co op games . Responding to the criticisms about both titles Insomniac Games, the developers of the franchise announced a new Ratchet and Clank title a year later that was supposed to bring the series back to its roots. I along with many other fans were excited as well as relieved to hear they were bringing the franchise back to form. So, does Into the Nexus live up to the previous installments as promised?
