GameReviewPad contributors give their thoughts on the Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn Teaser.

Sean Kromrey says:

To my surprise this is actually going to be a thing, and it looks like it is going to be as crazy as I hoped! Shaq-Fu, the original on SNES and Genesis, was a clear cut fighting game, and an alright one that garnered a cult following years later. That being said, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn looks to revitalize the series as a beat ’em up. That is really intriguing to me, as from the designs and how this trailer tells its story, this game will not try to take itself seriously and just have fun with it. That is something I feel like this series essentially needs in order to be good. It feels like the style of Double Dragon Neon for its art and gameplay potentially. I’m loving how they acknowledge the failures of the past for the franchise and move forward with a new vision and hopefully a solid game.

Andre Calvert says:

First of all, this trailer is hilarious, catchy, and really exemplifies who Shaq has become as far as his personality. When I was a kid I had Shaq-Fu for Sega Genesis, and although it was a ridiculous game, it was still enjoyable. I also distinctly remember getting a rap cd that came with the game. With Shaq Fu: Reborn appearing to look like a Streets of Rage type of game, I’m curious to see how it turns out. No matter how ridiculous this may turn out to be, it will most likely still land on my “Must Buy” list for the humor alone. Long live Shaq Fu!
