Madden NFL 17 Review (PS4)

Football season is upon us, and with each passing year comes the newest installment in the Madden NFL franchise. I know what you are thinking, “another Madden game, how can it be any different from the previous twenty something games?” I can understand that to some people this game series is worn out, but Madden NFL 17 has tried to make some big steps to add life to a recently disappointing franchise.

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below (PS4)

Dynasty Warriors and Tecmo Koei have created a phenomena. One that whether you like it or not, has cranked out numerous games and side games to famous series. The hack n’ slash button masher which is Dynasty Warriors, is a style that has a huge following of dedicated fans to it with its high octane and remotely easy and familiar gameplay. If you have played one, you most likely will have played most of the franchise and spin-offs. I have never been one to be drawn in by the flashy nature of its gameplay, or moves often resorting to passing on multiple iterations for a long time until of course Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below. Taking some the franchise’s more beloved characters from a select amount of games, it hopes to take that same Dynasty Warriors energy and apply it to create another hit. Does Dragon Quest Heroes make enough changes to the formula to stand out, or can it be written off as just another Dynasty Warriors style cash grab?

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Review (PS4)

Nathan Drake has been through a lot; finding lost cities, cursed idols, fighting against mercenaries and war criminals, finding love, treasure, and getting into sticky situations. We’ve seen him grow as a character, climb up some of the most terrifying heights, and solve puzzles that haven’t been touched in hundreds or even thousands of years. So what is a better way to wrap up the story of this modern day treasure hunter? Well of course, do it all again with some added things to boot.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Review (PS4)

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is the HD remake of the Playstation 2 game that was released in 2007. The game follows five characters: Valkyrie, Cornelius, Mercedes, Oswald, and Velvet, as their stories intertwine as the end of the world draws near. This is a remake in the true sense of the word, as the game feels completely different compared to the PS2 version, while still keeping a lot of what made the original game very fun to play. If you want to experience the original game, they included an option to play the original game without any of the changes.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Review (PS4)

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a hardcore first-person shooter that pits teams of five against each other to fight over an objective. Much like Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy mode, Rainbow Six Siege expands on the realistic shooting style and punishes the player for their mistakes. This is not just another run-of-the-mill shooter; Rainbow Six Siege takes the genre and turns it into the ultimate team-based hardcore FPS.
