Valkyria Chronicles Remastered Review (PS4)

Valkyria Chronicles, originally on the PS3, was an innovative title for the console and strategy RPGs of the like. Among all the PlayStation exclusives such as Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Valkyria Chronicles stood out as something unique and granted more freedom to a formula that often streamlined combat. A strategy RPG that fashioned itself as a fictional World War II with all the issues that were apparent of the time was something new and exciting. Throughout the years it has spawned sequels and has remained a strong staple of the Playstations of old. Over the years though, Valkyria Chronicles has faded into the background. That is until this current remaster on the PlayStation 4 which is attempting to revive the interest of this classic to the modern generation of gamers. This allows us to look at Valkyria Chronicles with a new set of eyes to see if it still stands up with its new technological advancements. Will it prove to still be a timeless classic in the next era of game consoles, or will the technological advancements merely try to polish something that should have stayed in the previous generation?

Dark Souls III Review (PS4)

If you were asked what the hardest game you have ever played was, then your answer may be Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, or Bloodborne. Weapons that were hidden in the dragon’s lair now possess these heroes and Oliver has the ability to save them. Having played both the PC version and the newly released console version, it’s easy to see that Gryphon Knight Epic translated over to the consoles very well.

Assault Android Cactus Review (PS4)

Assault Android Cactus stars a female cyborg named Cactus, who takes it upon herself to restore order to a civilian aircraft which has gone haywire, along with the high end bots boarding it. As she enters the ship, she meets three other similar cyborgs who also want to get to the bottom of things, which leads to them teaming up. Thus starts the adventure of these four cyborg ladies as they fight to restore the ship to working order before things get really out of hand. I was really excited for this game’s release for the PS4. I loved the emphasis on frantic and stylish combat and I felt this game could be a breath of fresh air in the top-down, twin stick shooter genre. So did this game turn out to be the fun and frantic twin stick shooter I was looking for?

The Walking Dead: Michonne Episode 1 Review (PS4)

The good folks at Telltale Games are at it again. This time with a three episode Walking Dead miniseries, centered around my personal favorite character, Michonne. So, needless to say, I was excited to learn more about my favorite character’s backstory and see things more from her perspective. Telltale Games has a great track record and has not let me down yet. So is the first episode a solid head start, or do they need to go back to the drawing board?
