Another trailer that got me excited was the surprise announcement of Animal Crossing. Appearing at the end of a Nintendo Direct, it heavily teased that Tom Nook would join the Smash Bros. roster, considering that the Isabelle trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate aired before this.

After making references to Pocket Camp and Smash Bros. Ultimate, he states that it’s up to him. I can see this being a reboot of the beloved franchised on the GameCube, where Tom gives you a house to live in and you spend days paying off the house. Animal Crossing is a game you can get lost in with the game having events taking place in real-time. The fact I own, but haven’t played, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pocket Camp shows that I don’t want to get lost in the game because it will distract me, but I feel this will have me come crawling back.
